Passport to Safety is annual community event where hundreds of kids learn about everyday safety: bike riding, stranger danger, healthy eating, water safety, internet safety, etc.

Thank you to everyone who attended the LPS Foundation’s 3rd Annual Luncheon. A special thank you to the keynote speaker, Sheryl Connelly, Ford Futurist, for her support and for sharing her insight and knowlege. $100 for Your Kindergartener’s College Savings Account!

Parents of current LPS kindergarteners have until May 31, 2013 to enroll their student in the Competitive Edge program and take advantage of a $100 contribution by the Livonia Public Schools Foundation. Recent Accomplishments

The Livonia Public Schools Foundation has completed it’s fourth year of implementing the Competitive Edge College Savings Program. Through this program, the LPS Foundation provided an opportunity for all 2011-12 kindergarten and first grade families to receive a gift from the community to assist with their children’s college education.

For those families that chose to participate, the LPS Foundation deposited seed money on the student’s behalf into a 529 college savings account that is held by the LPS Foundation. These funds grow over the years and will be dispersed to students following their graduation from Livonia Public Schools.

This one-of-a-kind program is unique to Livonia Public Schools and is intended to give the children of the district a “competitive edge” in the future by helping families pay for college. The LPS Foundation also provided families with information about the value of college savings.

The LPS Foundation is excited to offer this college savings program once again for our 2011-12 kindergarten students. Kindergarten families will receive information this fall about participating in the Competitive Edge College Savings Program.

Bill Brown Ford and Tennyson Chevrolet Partner with LPS Foundation

Bill Brown Ford and Tennyson Chevrolet have both partnered with the LPS Foundation! Each dealer will donate $200 to the Livonia Public Schools Foundation for every new or pre-owned vehicle purchased from their dealership by an LPS employee or someone who is referred by an LPS employee. In addition, all LPS employees will be eligible for special pricing on new car purchases (see dealer for details).
