The Foundation will need volunteers for a variety of fundraising activities occurring throughout the year.

LPS Education Foundation Planned Giving
Bequests
You can create a legacy by providing a donation in your will, a bequest, giving you the opportunity to support the foundation without using current assets. It is simple to establish and allows you the ability to modify it as you see fit, at any time,
Beneficiary
You may designate the foundation as a beneficiary of any portion of the insurance or IRA. By allocating a portion of these assets, you can provide support to the foundation as well as any others you wish to designate as beneficiaries. Again, you have the option of modifying it at any time.
Required Minimum Distribution of your IRA
(Please consult your financial advisor for current recommendations.)
For a regular IRA, you are required to withdraw a taxable amount each year after you reach the age of 70 ½. By having your IRA broker directly donating any portion of this distribution to the Foundation, that amount of your RMD is tax exempt, saving you taxable income. And, you can change the amount on an annual basis.
Amazon Smile
The LPS Education Foundation has partnered with AmazonSmile!
AmazonSmile works this way: When first visiting smile.amazon.com, customers are prompted to select a charitable organization. To choose the Foundation, search for Livonia Public Schools Foundation Inc and click “select” to designate the Foundation as your charitable organization.
The AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price to the Foundation!

The LPS Education Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization chartered by the State of Michigan. As such, your donation to this worthy cause is tax deductible and very much appreciated. Your gift will be used to directly enhance the education of students in the Livonia Public Schools.

Star Awards
Are you looking for a unique way to thank a Livonia Public Schools staff member? A Star Award honors any LPS employee who has made a difference in a student’s, family’s or fellow staffer’s life. For a $25 donation to the Foundation, a personalized, color certificate will be presented to your honoree, and they will receive recognition on the Foundation’s website and social media platforms as well as the district’s social media platforms. The certificate will be personalized with your praise to show this LPS employee how much they mean to you!
